Founded in 2001, The St. Cecilia Schola Cantorum places a particular emphasis on making Gregorian chant and Renaissance polyphony integral parts of modern liturgy - in accordance with the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM). Rehearsals are Thursday (except Thanksgiving) from 8:00 - 9:30 p.m. in the choir practice room and we sing at liturgy twice monthly, usually the first and third Sundays of the month.
We welcome the participation of all parishioners who enjoy singing and can read music and who wish to dedicate themselves to the ministry via regular attendance at rehearsals and scheduled liturgies. If reading gregorian notation is not yet part of your repertoire, you'll learn quickly - that's part of the fun and fellowship.
