In the 17th century, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque received a series of visions from Christ to foster devotion to His Sacred Heart. One of these devotions was to make the first Friday of each month a special day of observance. Sign up for a half hour of adoration on the board in the church hallway or come anytime between 8:45 AM and 5:45 PM.
