• The Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion assist the priest with the distribution of Communion during Mass and to our home bound parishioners. It is a very important and life-giving ministry in the Church.

• Lectors, or readers, proclaim Sacred Scripture to our assembly and make God present in his word during the first part of Mass, the Liturgy of the Word. Lectors also proclaim our intentions and prayers for our Church during the Prayers of the Faithful.

• Altar Servers serve the priest at the altar, setting an example for parishioners how to participate in the Mass by joyfully singing and responding.
• Children in grades 4 through adults can be altar servers.

• The Ushers are called to be ministers of Hospitality. They are entrusted with promoting a sense of welcoming and belonging to all the faithful assembled for worship.  Usher responsibilites include:
  • Seating those assembled.
  • Attending to the needs of the disabled by holding doors open, and locating spaces for wheelchairs.
  • Making sure members of the assembly bring forth the gifts during the Rite of Preparation
  • Keep the worship space free from clutter.
  • Circulate the collection baskets in an orderly manner.
  • Ensure order and safety during the Mass
  • Assist the handicapped in receiving Holy Communion 
  • Hand out bulletins at the conclusion of Mass.

• The Sacristan prepares the altar and cares for the sacred objects and vessels so that all the members of the worshipping community can take their full, conscious and active part in the liturgical celebration.

• We invite singers and instrumentalists (high school and adult) to be a part of the weekly liturgies. We have three choirs: Chancel Choir practices before 10:30 AM Sunday Mass; St. Cecilia Schola Choir practices on Thursdays from 7-9 pm in the church and sings for the 7:45 AM Mass; and the 5 PM Student Choir.
• Cantors will have an audition.

As a body is one, though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body, so also Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews, or Greeks, slaves or free persons, and we were all given to drink of one Spirit

1 CORINTHIANS 12:12-13

The word liturgy comes from a very old word meaning “work of the people.” We work together to make our Catholic liturgy a life giving experience for each other. Each one of us has a role to play in making this great prayer of thanks and praise to God. As baptized members of the Body of Christ, we are all members of the royal priesthood and our loving God has bestowed each of us with gifts and talents to share with others.
