Each home game, the Knights of Columbus and their volunteers sell programs and radios for the Auburn University home football games. The Knights earn 10% of the sales of the items, and these proceeds go directly into the Knights' Seminarian Fund, where they make an annual financial donation to each of St. Michael's seminarians. The Knights feel very committed to offer this assistance to our seminarians who are preparing for a lifetime of service to our diocese and to our Catholic Church.
See the attached map to see where the Knights sell programs just inside Gates 2, 12, and 15.
Programs are $10 each, and radios with the stadium broadcast (and earbuds) are $25. Also, if you've purchased a radio in previous years, bring it by and they can reprogram it for this year for just $10.
Did you know that you can help the Knights raise money for our seminarians by manning a kiosk, too? You can watch the game as well!
Here is the flow:
We report to the meeting room at the east side of Petrie Hall around 2 1/2 hours before the football game starts and get a wristband which gives us entry into the stadium.
For each of the three kiosks we man, we are given an apron to wear and a box that contains some cash change, and a number of radios and the batteries that are used in the radios.
We move to the three locations where our kiosks are set up at Gates 2, 12, and 15. The kiosks are just inside the stadium gates where the spectators enter the stadium. At the point of two hours before the game, spectators can enter the stadium. We position ourselves along the inside of the gate and near our kiosk to sell (HAWK) our $10 programs. Our plan is to have four persons at each kiosk area.
Our first shift goes from the two hours before the game to game kick-off, This period is where about 95% of our sales take place and we are usually very busy. At kick-off, the first shift is relieved and can enter the seating area. If they find an empty seat, they can sit in it for the game unless the real "owner" of that seat shows up. In that case, they can move to another location. Usually, there are empty seats around the stadium and our volunteers can always see the full game for "free".
We do man two kiosks for the first half of the game just for any latecomers who may need a program or radio or also need a radio reprogrammed. At the end of the first half, the second shift persons can watch the game.
