Here are the specific ways here at St. Michael we honor the dead during November, specifically on Nov 1's All Saints' Day and Nov 2's All Souls' Day.
November 1, All Saints' Day, is a holy day of obligation. Holy days of obligation are feast days on which Catholics are required to attend Mass and to avoid (to the extent that they are able) servile work.
October 31's 6 PM Mass will be a vigil Mass for All Saints' Day. This Mass fulfills the Mass requirement for Nov 1.
November 1's 8:30 AM Mass will include the St. Michael Catholic School students.
November 1's 5 PM Confessions/Adoration and 6 PM Mass will be at St. Michael, not Frassati Chapel.
November 2's 6 PM Mass will conclude with a candlelit procession to the columbarium to pray the Office of the Dead.
Lastly, be sure to add any names of the faithfully departed to the parish Book of the Dead in the hallway before November 1. We will pray for those listed in a special way throughout November.
